Q. How is Emerson Bearing unique?
A. A number of things make us unique. Topping the list is our Market Solutions approach. We probably know more about bearings than any other distributor in the United States. When you call with a question, we have answers. That's what you want in a vendor. That's what you deserve. Q. Why should I trust my business to Emerson Bearing?
A. There are a number of reasons. We probably stock the size and style you need from a choice of manufacturers, so you won't waste time searching for bearings. Q. What is your ideal type of customer?
A. Our ideal customer orders moderate-to-large quantities with scheduled monthly or weekly shipments. Ideally, a customer should pay within 45 days. When we establish such a relationship with a customer, both sides benefit. Try us, and you'll see for yourself.

While we appreciate brand-loyal customers, we also recognize that price or delivery situations may force us to look for alternatives of equal quality. Our expertise allows us to deliver that service to you. And if you know the part numbers, it's helpful.

Q. Are the bearings available quickly?
A. Very likely. While we carry some other products, bearings are our main business, and we stock over 3 million of them in our distribution center. Sizes range from a 4-millimeter bore to a roller bearing 4 feet across. If we don't have your bearing in stock, we know where to look. And we'll get it fast. Just contact us.

Q. Can you help me identify a bearing by description or dimensions?
A. Yes. We maintain a complete engineering library and dimensional database for most worldwide manufacturers. One way to find a bearing is to go to our Bearing Detective and enter the dimensions. We'll let you know if there's a particular bearing (inch or metric) available.

Q. Can I interchange different part numbers?
A. Sometimes. If you're puzzled by the array of bearing numbers and letters, call our experienced staff at 1-800-225-4587. They can explain the entire system. And they'll tell you when and where you can substitute one bearing for another š particularly between brands.

Q. Can we add special features or modify bearings?
A. With Emerson you can. Because we are a large distributor and because we work closely with manufacturers, we can offer this service. We can help you completely modify bearings, from expanding internal clearances, to adding snap ring grooves, to tapping a variety of lubrication options. Q. What brands do you offer and from what countries of origin?
A. We stock over two-dozen brands. From most of the world's leading manufacturers. This kind of volume gives you the performance and price point you need. If we don't have the brand you want on our shelf (and we probably do), we'll get it for you fast.

We know price and the manufacturer's location are important to you, so we stock a wide range of options. We work with manufacturers in the U.S., Japan, Germany, Romania, Korea, Austria, and China, among many others. We also have a worldwide network of manufacturers who can help us get that hard-to-find bearing.

Q. What is the price of the item?
A. Because we have a large inventory, we can usually offer you several price points from different manufacturers for the same style of bearing. Let us shop your requirements around the world. We deliver a competitive price every time.

Q. Are there equivalent bearings at a lower price?
A. Invariably certain applications can use "offshore," less-expensive bearings. While the range of available products are still relatively small, it will expand. As it does, we will continue to make equivalent bearings available, offering you the best value for your dollar.

Q. Do you accept credit card payment?
A. Absolutely. Visa, Mastercard, and American Express are all welcome at Emerson and Action Bearing.

Q. What do the numbers on bearings mean?
A. Bearings are manufactured to international standards established decades ago. These standards define the metals used, the tolerances, and the basic boundary dimensions. They also allow for a worldwide numbering system which makes our job easier. If a customer wants a 6210-2RS or a 23972MBC3W33, we'll know exactly what it is.

Q. Are you open on Saturdays?
A. Yes. From 8:00 am until 12:00 noon, Eastern Standard Time. For those emergency situations, you can access our distribution center 24-hours a day.

Q. What is your freight policy?
A. Free freight on orders of $1,000 or more. We'll also ship by your preferred shipper: UPS, FedEx, Parcel Post, Air Freight, or Motor Freight. We give you the choice. And for emergencies, we can ship the product to you overnight.

Q. When does UPS pick up?
A. They're here at 3:45 PM, Eastern Standard Time. If you place an order by 1:00 PM, there's a 95% chance your order will be shipped the same day. Be sure to ask for this service. We promise to do our best.
